Silver grass turn a beautiful silvery color in autumn. Their large, feathery and iridescent tassel-like plumes stand tall above the arching foliage and dramatically transform the landscape, swaying and dancing in the breeze. Silver grass ("eoksae" in Korean) are found on mountains and in fields while reeds (“galdae” in Korean) are frequently found on riverside and wetlands. Mountains known for silver grass include Myeongseongsan Mountain in Pocheon, Gyeonggi-do; Mindungsan Mountain in Jeongseon, Gangwon-do; Cheongwansan Mountain in Jangheung, Jeollanam-do; and Oseosan Mountain in Hongseong, Chungcheongnam-do. When it comes to reeds, Suncheonman Bay Ecological Park (Field of Reeds) in Jeollanam-do is one of the the most well-known destinations.
